Descriere:
Actiunea filmului se petrece in salile operei Opera Populaire dupa venirea noului patron, Raoul de Changy. In aceasta opera se intampla mai multe fenomene inexplicabile al caror autor pare a fi o fantoma care isi petrece veacul in catacombele cladirii si terorizeaza angajatii Operei. Christine este o cantareata tanara si talentata care ar putea ajunge importanta cu ajutorul unui mentor de calitate. Fantoma (The Phantom) o remarca si doreste sa o ajute sa primeasca roluri principale, folosindu-se de teroarea pe care putea sa o creeze intre personalul de la Opera si de faima lui de acolo, si de cunostiintele lui despre muzica. Cunoscut de catre Christine ca "The Angel of Music”, el se dovedeste a nu fi o fantoma, ci un geniu muzical desfigurat caruia ii este frica sa se arate lumii. Cand Christine se indragosteste de Raoul de Changy, fara sa stie ca Fantoma o iubeste, ea este rapita si inchisa intr-un exces de gelozie al Fantomei. Oare va putea Raoul sa o salveze?
