Ultima ispită a lui Iisus este un film fictiv dramă 1988 regizat de Martin Scorsese . Este o adaptare cinematografica a controversatului roman din 1953 cu același nume de Nikos Kazantzakis.Filmul este o experienţă vizuală inegalabilă. O viziune noua asupra Noului Testament, filmul lui Scorsese este de fapt povestea ultimei perioade din viata lui Isus, din perspectiva personajului uman, nu a celui biblic. Desi cronologic sunt respectate toate etapele biblice ale povestirii, filmul adauga o alta latura povestii, un exercitiu filosofic in care se pune intrebarea…cum ar fi evoluat lucrurile daca Isus ar fi cedat ispitei? Filmul a starnit controverse vii, fiind blamat chiar de biserica catolica.
